After this the government made major changes in its fiscal policy and increased interest rates which has helped in controlling the inflation and fall of the Turkish lira.
In FY 2024 TRY declined by approx. 19.58%, against the dollar, and the Turkish Central Bank increased its deposits rate to 50%.
The government has also slowly but steadily been able to control the inflation from the highs of 58.51% in 2024 to 37.86% in April 2025 with an year end target of 29%.
